Back To Work!

Well I'm back after a nice, quiet summer.  Although the calendar says it's still summer, for those of us in the crafting business, it's time to get back to work!  Speaking of calendars, I have designed and made some of the new Art Deco style tea towel calendars for 2016:

And, in addition to the 1919 Tulsa World Ads fabric I created last year, I also designed some from the 1906 Tulsa World newspapers.  These are fun because technically, we still weren't a state back then.  You can tell from the many ads and articles that folks were very excited and anxious for that to happen (although it would not until November 16, 1907).  Tulsa was busy trying to cope with the tremendous growth brought about by oil discovery, and get streets and sidewalks built.  Many of the ads have Tulsa I.T. which stands for Indian Territory.  Here is one of the 18 pages I made:

Someone recently asked me what you could do with fabric made with these designs.  I replied that, in addition to the obvious quilt, one could also make pillows or aprons.  The design could also be used for wallpaper or wrapping paper.  Any other ideas?

I have signed on to do one craft show so far.  It is the Harvest Moon Craft Show to be held Saturday, October 3rd.  Thanks for stopping by!
